Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: February 2025
Transparency first: We believe in full disclosure. When we introduce you to third-party platforms and you sign up through our referral, we may earn a commission. This page explains how that works and what it means for you.
What Are Affiliate Relationships?
Thoughtcrime participates in affiliate programs with certain cryptocurrency exchanges and other service providers. This means:
- When we introduce you to a platform during our services
- And you sign up using our referral link
- We may receive a commission from that platform
This is a standard business practice in the industry and helps support our consulting services.
What This Means for You
No additional cost: Using our referral link costs you nothing extra. In many cases, you may receive a welcome bonus or fee discount.
Your choice: You are never obligated to use our referral links. You can always sign up directly with any platform without our involvement. Our service fees remain the same either way.
Independence: Our educational guidance is based on your needs, not on which platforms pay the highest commissions. We recommend platforms based on security, reputation, and suitability for your situation.
How We Handle Affiliate Relationships
To maintain integrity, we follow these principles:
- Disclosure: We verbally disclose affiliate relationships during every relevant consultation
- Written acknowledgment: Our service agreements include explicit affiliate disclosure clauses
- No obligation: We never require clients to use our referral links
- Education focus: We teach you how to evaluate platforms yourself, not just which ones to use
- Transparent process: Platforms handle their own KYC, compliance, and onboarding—we don't facilitate transactions
Types of Compensation
We may receive:
- Sign-up bonuses: One-time payment when a referred client creates and verifies an account
- Trading fee rebates: A percentage of trading fees while you use the platform (this comes from the platform's fees, not additional charges to you)
We do NOT receive compensation based on:
- The amount you deposit or invest
- Specific trades or assets you purchase
- Your investment outcomes
Third-Party Providers
When we introduce you to a third-party platform:
- That platform is fully independent from Thoughtcrime
- They are responsible for their own regulatory compliance, KYC/AML procedures, and service delivery
- Our introduction does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of their services
- You should review their terms of service and conduct your own due diligence
Our Commitment
We believe transparency builds trust. If you ever have questions about our affiliate relationships or want to understand our recommendations better, just ask. We're happy to explain our reasoning and will always respect your choice to use or not use any platform we discuss.
